Praticamente todos os munic\u00edpios localizados no semi-\u00e1rido e a maioria dos situados na zona da mata e agreste est\u00e3o conveniados com a CASAL.<\/p><p>Em 1962, o Governo do Estado , atrav\u00e9s da Lei n. 2.491, criou a CASAL \u2013 Companhia de Abastecimento D\u2019\u00c1gua e Saneamento do Estado de Alagoas. Em 2006 foi alterada a denomina\u00e7\u00e3o da CASAL para Companhia de Saneamento de Alagoas, atuando em 77 munic\u00edpios do Estado, sendo respons\u00e1vel pelo abastecimento de \u00e1gua tratada e coleta e destina\u00e7\u00e3o final do esgoto nestes munic\u00edpios.
